Cavity Wall Insulation

HOW DOES CAVITY WALL INSULATION WORK?

Cavity wall insulation is blown into the cavity between the inner and outer leaves of the external wall and can be applied to existing as well as new build properties. This can be injected internally or externally depending on the construction stage. The insulation is blown under pressure through a series of pre drilled holes in accordance with the BBA’s set drilling pattern. Once filled, the holes are filled with mortar and colour matched to your external walls.

The Government regards it as the most cost effective energy saving measure that most people can carry out on their homes. Once installed, this should last the lifetime of your house.

All our systems comply with the current building regulations, in accordance with the appropriate British Board of Agreement (BBA) certificate. For even more information take a look at the energy saving trust website here.

BENEFITS OF NEW BUILD BLOWN CAVITY WALL INSULATION OVER INSTALLED BOARD INSULATION (BY THE BUILDER)

We offer new build cavity wall insulation to residential and commercial builders. The benefits of blown cavity wall insulation over board products are numerous. Board products are more expensive, and will incur additional install costs. If you look at the difference on install costs you will see that fitted board insulation can cost around 1 pound per m2 more to install, as it adds 2-3 man days to the build. Fitted board insulation requires special corner joints and riser pieces which add fitting complexity and additional cost to the build. On top of this a vertical DPC (Damp Proof Course) will be required from top to bottom on all corners. Other issues to consider with the board product are its storage on site, board wastage, and it getting damaged, wet or stolen which are often not been taken into consideration. Full fill blown cavity wall insulation will guarantee a 100% full filled cavity with no gaps.

I recently had my loft insulated by Enviro-Therm, they were very tidy and efficient and I would certainly recommend them.

Enviro-Therm carried out a render to the back of our house. They were very professional and the finish was excellent. We are certainly going to be having them back to insulate and render the front of our house.
